Our instructors are selected based on their capacity to teach, as well as their knowledge and experience in their respective fields. The passion they have for teaching your children shows through in their work every single day.
We require each instructor to earn and maintain a Safe Sport Certification from the United States Association of Gymnastics (USAG) to help raise awareness on best practices for safety and well-being of our students.

Debi Taffi
Owner
Debi began taking gymnastics at the age of 8 she participated in competitive gymnastics for 15 years. She has over 30 years of women's gymnastics coaching experience. Debi takes great pride in achieving her lifelong dream of opening her own gym. Debi is a USAG professional member, has a USAG Safety Certification, Safe Sport Certified, Kinder Accreditation Training (KAT)-certified. Debi is certified in first aid and CPR and AED.
Teresa Royko
Owner
Teresa has over 25 years of administrative management experience, as well as 13 years experience owning and operating two real estate investment companies. Teresa has loved gymnastics since she was a young girl and enjoys co-owning Lake Norman Gymnastics Academy with her best friend, Debi. Teresa is a USASF Professional Member, has a Safe Sport Certification and is certified in first aid and CPR and AED.
Kristen Taffi Abernathy
General Manager
Kristen serves as the manager at LKNGA. With over 16 years of coaching and administrative experience, she brings with her a wealth of knowledge and versatility that is appreciated by both students and parents and her co-workers. Kristen has a degree in business, is a professional member of USAG and USASF, a USAG Safety Certification, Safe Sport Certified and is certified in first aid, CPR and AED. She loves spending time with her husband and beautiful daughter and still enjoys playing recreational softball and volleyball.
