Women's Team Gymnastics Director: Danielle Taffi Johnson

Mrs. Danielle has over 12 years of coaching gymnastics, including competitive team levels 2-10 and all levels of Xcel.  She prides herself on her approach of drilling the skills, while running the women's team using safe and sound progressions. Mrs. Danielle has also choreographed many regional and state winning routines.  She thoroughly loves the artistry of gymnastics.  Mrs. Danielle continues her education by attending state and national training camps and has had several athletes make it to Regionals and Eastern Nationals.  Her favorite part of her job is watching the kids succeed and build life long friendships.  She strives to ensure her mother and gym owner, Debra Taffi is always proud of the gymnastics that is produced from LKNGA. Mrs. Danielle has a professional USAG Membership, Safety Certification, AED, First Aid and CPR certified.

All-Star Cheer Team Director: Krysten Crudup

Coach K is a former Fame All Star cheerleader where she was a Bronze world medalist and college cheerleader. Her cheer journey started at 8 years old, and ended after her first year of college at East Carolina University. Though Coach K has participated in many other sports, All Star Cheerleading was her #1 love. She has been a cheer coach for 4 years and led her high school team to 3 national championship wins. She believes that this sport is full of discipline, determination, and dedication. She has spent her entire life being a cheerleader and now she is ready to be an influence and guide the way for other cheerleaders.  Coach K is a USASF coach member and she is also AED, First Aid and CPR certified.

All-Star Cheer Team Director: Tyler Alexander

Tyler has her degree in education and coached in gyms for the last 5 years. She loves working with kids, so when she wasn't working in a gym, she worked for an after-school care program. She was a competitive cheerleader for over 13 years, and her specialty is tumbling and stunting. She is our recreational department head and also co-directs our all-star cheer program. Coach Tyler is a USASF coach member and she is also AED, First Aid and CPR certified. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Kolbe, friends, and 2 dogs, Mollie & Luka.

Women's Team Gymnastics Coach:

Mia Fowler 

Miss Mia comes with vast knowledge and experience in competitive artistic gymnastics. She competed up to Level 10 with Everest gymnastics. She has a soft, but effective approach with the team athletes. She attended Wingate University and received a bachelors of science in psychology. In addition to her coaching team with us, she also is the director of teaching scholars program at Lenoir Rhyne University. She also is obtaining her masters degree there as well. Miss Mia has a professional USAG Membership, Safety Certification and Safe Sport Certification.

Martha Hillin

  Women's Team Gymnastics Coach:

Martha Hillin

Ms. Martha was a competitive gymnast for 20 years and she was a collegiate gymnast at the University of Nebraska. She has more than 10 years of coaching experience and has a very strong knowledge of gymnastics. Ms. Martha enjoys family time with her husband and four children, two of which are members of our competitive gymnastics team.   Miss Martha has a professional USAG Membership, Safety Certification. She is also AED, First Aid and CPR certified.

Competitive Irish Dance Director: Sandra Connick

Sandra Connick, a native of Cork, Ireland, grew up in a family rich in Irish dance traditions. Miss Sandra excitedly brought Irish dance to LKNGA nearly 3 years ago. She is a registered teacher and adjudicator with the governing Irish dance body both in the USA and Ireland. She has been teaching in the Carolina's since 1994 and has recently moved to the Denver area. Miss Sandra teaches Traditional Irish Dance for beginners on through Champion Levels. Many of her students have competed Nationally & Internationally over the past 20+ years and hold several titles. "My goal is to instill a love of Irish dance in your child so that they'll be happy to share their love of dance with others."

Women's Competitive Team: Sarah Vaccaro

Sarah comes to LKNGA with over 20 years of coaching experience and competed up to Level 10. She has coached AAU, USAG XCEL, Levels 2-10 and was the head coach of a T&T team for 3 years. Sarah is the mom of 3 girls and competes annually in the Bikini Division of Bodybuilding.

Women's Competitive Team: Kelaiah Johnston


Kelaiah was a gymnast at Osega Gymnastics in Boone, NC and trained under Miles Avery. He competed Levels 4-10 and was a collegiate cheerleader at Liberty University. He also worked at Osega as a recreational coach, summer camp counselor, after school care instructor and team coach for several years. Kelaiah's specialty is tumbling and he will also be coaching some recreational tumbling classes here at LKNGA. He has just enrolled in Aviation School and plans to be with us while he is a student. 

We are so excited to have Kelaiah join our staff!


Women's Competitive Team: Jennifer Halton

Jennifer was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. She coached competitive

gymnastics for many years in Denver and was a competitive gymnast for 10 years.

She recently moved to North Carolina to be closer to her mother.

She is super excited to be a part of our team!




Women's Competitive Team: Brianna Kelly

Coach Brianna has been with Lake Norman since 2023. She has worked with our recreational athletes as well as our upper lever competitive teams.

Women's Competitive Team: Mackenzie Lowry

Mackenzie serves as a gymnastics coach at LKNGA. She was a competitive gymnast for 8 years and brings a hardworking and energetic light to her athletes, parents, and co-workers. She is a member of USAG as an athlete and trainer. Mackenzie is completing her junior year in high school as an honor and AP roll student. In Mackenzie’s free time, she plays both high school and club volleyball, and spends time with her friends and family.
